Its been a long time..hah.. and theres quite a few interesting updates abt my life.. which i know is not a concern to most..but its MY blog. heh.
first up, well during CNY went to watch Little Children. Baby didnt really like the movie. But for me, the movie was quite good..Kate Winslet's acting was a winner.. and Jennifer.. gorgeous as ever. I liked the roles though, high-flying wife whose husband takes care of the daily chores and the son, 'cheating' husband whose wife has many problems of her own and not forgetting her daughter. why i put the inverted commas? because, this husband doesnt cheat literally, meaning, goes on to have some rompy sex session with prostitutes or whoever..but instead, he orders lingerie from this porn star's website and smells it..has her photos infront of him and masturbates. the best part is he does it at the comfort at his home without locking the door. how smart? and what happens if u be this 'smart'? u get CAUGHT! i tell u..no wife wld want to be in that situation. and yeah, we have mr flasher,Ronnie who got caught for flashing at children and resides in the neighbourhood. But he himself is a child, who later punishes himself grossly after his mom's death.
the famous red swimsuit which she wore for mostly half of the film. heh. however, this movie did remind me of 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna"..the main story abt cheating spouses..suspicion and the roles of spouse.
Another movie was The Pursuit of Happyness. and it was one helluva movie i tell u. For those who have not watched, please do so!!mIt's really an inspiring movie..Will Smith's acting was impeccable and Jr.Smith, Jayden stole my heart. What i really liked about the movie was the bond between the father and son. The father whose life is screwed up coz he cant sell his Bone-Density scanner to hospitals and his car gets towed away or wheel-clamped because he parked it outside a hospital..he has overdue rents, bills and his wife decides to leave him for good. Sighs.. what is overwhelming is his will-power, determination and his belief of nothing is impossible. Also, i loved the parts on how he never lets his son suffer his plight.. and still strives to give him the best.
The scene i love most was the part..where both of them will get chased out of the motel and have nowhere to sleep and end up at the train station. Even then, he manages to make his son believe that his scanner is a time-machine by acting out that there were dinosaurs all around them and they needed to get to a safer place. The son decided to follow suit and act together with his dad..and they went to the toilet. Will then locked the door..sat down and had his son lie on his lap as his son was sleeping and he din want anyone to open and disturb. It was then, seeing his state..he broke down.. especially when someone tried to open the door but cldnt..and starting banging and knocking..he quickly covered his son's ears and tried to hold back the door.. trying hard not to cry out. Sighs. that scene was really emotional. In fact, many parts were. All in all, this was one damn good movie..and to add on its based on a true story. :)
And, i got a new phone! thanks to the starhub voucher my dad got. heh. Also, im now sitting at the comfort of my room and blogging! lol. nope the desktop is still at the comp room.. upgraded my scv and got the lappie.. kinda heavy but at least..it will be of some use now.. lol.
oooh. i found a real good pair of shoes in Charles and Keith. but cldnt get the size and colour at Bishan so reserved one in Wdls. heh. im also finding real good pair of slip-ons..anyone knows of a good shoe shop..please do tag me!!
Ydae headed to Downtown East as Punetha akka's family were having a chalet. went there in the evening and had loads of fun..haha.. too bad i had to leave as i had tuition today.. but nvm there's always a next time!
btw, its becoming more frightening to read the papers each day.. students collapsing while running and then later dying..9yr old gives birth. God..im freaked out a lil by this anonymous death..stealing our lives while we are asleep..or being sportingly active. You dont even know whether u get to live the next day. Guess, we just have to make the most out of each day. About the 9yr old girl.. i really got no comments. Firstly, these kiddos have no other things to experiment about isit? and i wonder howwwww? sheesh.
Oh, and Congrats to NUS Vidiyal on bagging the first prize of the Dhool Competition. Diversity was mind-blowing ..and Acidhouz..i preferred the 2nd dance segment. Well, hardwork has finally been paid off aye?
