Warning: This post might be a little backdated Attended Samarpanam by SIFAS (Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society) at RP. Rohsini was performing and the little one (Ashiwin) came to stay over the day before. The first half of the show was all about classical singing and music instruments like tabla, mirdangam, sitar, veena and more. It was pleasant to the ears especially those who love the arts. After the prize-giving ceremony, the 2nd half was a dance segment on the birth of Lord Murugan and how he conquered evil and how he became the husband of two wives.
The dance was absolutely mind-blowing. Mindless to the aching of my sore butt for having sat for more than 3hours, I was dumbstruck by the vibrant colours that filled the stage and the dance movements. Made me regretted as to why I quit classical dancing and singing after learning it for 6 years. DAMN! The pictures will be uploaded soon!
One thing that turned me off was the way the upper level handled this whole process. Firstly, this event was free and to add on it was free seating. The time was clearly stated. So obviously those who want good seats came first. In the itinery book, it was stated that it will finish at 8.30pm. I had to go to the ladies and when I was about to go out, RP's ushers told me that once I went out, my seat will be taken out because others are outside waiting to get seat. I am like wth? You mean you want me to pee in my seat? I could not blame them cause apparently it wasn't their fault. One of SIFAS's upper hand lady was doing all these nonsense. She was getting people to sit on the steps and wherever she had empty seats, she would get someone to seat.
Come on, where's the sense in here? We made the effort to come early to appreciate your show and yet you give those latecomers the seats? I was damn pissed. Ashiwin was hungry so I told my dad to bring him out to give him food and I will stay near the exit so that when they come in, I can let the RP ushers know. Then when I went to the ladies(
obviously I can't be tolerating)and got back, this male RP usher refused to let me in. Thank god this girl remembered me and told him. Pushing past all those ladies who was fighting with him, I got in. Thank goodness. And mind you, the show only finished at 10.30pm. Imagined if I had tolerated? I just feel that the upper level could have handled this whole problem in a much better way. But apart from this chaos, the show was extremely wonderful.
Sept 13th was my
babyboo's birthday. Was crossing my fingers hoping he would not be called up and thank god he wasn't! He came over about 4plus looking all handsome and hot. We were deciding on where to go and finally decided on
No Signboard Seafood, Esplanade. The other branch at Vivo which we normally frequent was totally booked. Everything went smoothly. The birthday cake, to the place, the waiters/waitress and not forgetting the food. We had a sumptuous spread of fried rice, baby kailan, butter prawns, deer meat and of course chilli crab!
We were so stuffed that we had to pack back a couple of prawns and crab. Those who love butter prawns, you got to try No Signboard Seafood Restaurant's one! Baby was so pampered. The waiter lighted up his candle and not only parents and I wished him but surrounding tables started clapping with us. Beside our table had this Eurasian babygirl who stole baby's heart but she was a bit cranky. No,
SO cranky that when dad went to offer her the cake she quickly got down and hugged her dad and refused to look at dad. LOL!
But 5minutes later, she was eating the strawberry and looking at baby. Baby said she smiled at him. Hahaha. And, if any babygirl smiles at him, thats it. He's all yours! Even I go unnoticed. Hmph! After that, walked around a bit and got home. I hope baby likes the gift though that wasn't what mom and I had planned. It's ok baby, we will get to give it to you on Deepavali!
After that, nothing much happened. Been drowning myself with driving classes since I won't be free during October. Got in touch back with an old friend. Learnt a lot of new stuffs. And right now, we are on the road to smoothening rough patches and back to old friendship. And I hope it's here to stay! She is one friend whom bestie and I have missed in our lives. It's scary how one person change drastically and you just cannot recognise them anymore. It's like a stranger standing infront of you. And it's scary how one person can smile so sweetly at you and only talk bad about you to your own best friend? How genuine.
Maybe it's my fault. Maybe I am too trusting. But that's me. If you want to take me for granted then by all means. I am a staunch believer in Karma and guess things happen for a reason.
Tomorrow is my first lesson in
SIM. Back to tutorials, lectures, welcoming projects, writing notes, meeting deadlines. Gosh, it sounds scary enough now! And my first module is
PR Practice and Writing. As much as I love to write, I hope this module won't change my perspective in writing. :S
But let's look at the brighter side of things. I might write/blog (
very imp)better. :P
I want to watch Mamma-Mia with my bestie!
I am gonna start my fasting on Sep 30 for Navarathiri all the way to Oct 20 for Thimithi. Back to masala thosais and mock meat! Yay!
It's the start of the week.
Hope you guys are starting on good.
Here's a pocket full of sunshine to you and an extra one to my bestie. :)
